As part of the aging process, the skin and tissues begin to lose their elasticity. For women, this can also mean changes in the vaginal tissues. Vaginal rejuvenation procedures can restore elasticity and relieve other symptoms that can cause painful and uncomfortable intercourse. The staff of Findlay Med Spa can answer any questions you may have concerning menopause and how vaginal rejuvenation helps to improve your sexual experiences.
Whether you’re in your 20’s or 60’s, our bodies are undergoing constant physical change. Most of us only talk about the changes that affect our appearance (facial wrinkles, age spots) and metabolism. We often overlook the fact that our vaginas also change with time. For those who experience pregnancy and childbirth, it’s no surprise that some stretching and possible tearing of the vaginal opening can occur. What you may not know is that even if you never give birth, your vaginal canal and your vulva are going to age…just like the rest of your body.
Some of the most common feminine health concerns related to this include:
These symptoms can adversely affect your life. Fortunately, if you’re suffering from vaginal discomfort or you’re unhappy with the physical changes you’re experiencing, there is a solution!
Vaginal Rejuvenation can include vaginoplasty (tightening of the vagina) and/or labiaplasty (reshaping of the labia).
Vaginoplasty is a vaginal procedure designed to tighten lax muscles to achieve a narrower and tighter vaginal canal. Vaginoplasty can improve pelvic floor relaxation and may also improve sexual function. This procedure will take about 30 minutes (x3) and is done in our office with our Votiva technology. Votiva is a non-invasive, sub-dermal heating technology that applies uniform radio-frequency heating to both the internal and external vaginal tissues to improve elastin and collagen.
Labiaplasty is a cosmetic surgical procedure to reshape or transform the appearance of the labia. Labiaplasty is done to reduce excess skin or to correct irregularities. This procedure will modify the shape and symmetry of the labia. Labiaplasty takes about 1 hour in our in-office surgical suite with local anesthesia.
Vaginal Rejuvenation should be long-term and the results should last a lifetime. However, there will be a degree of relaxation that will naturally occur as you continue to age or experience trauma such as vaginal childbirth.
