What You Can Expect During Your First Cellulaze Treatment

Up to 90% of all women develop cellulite at some point in their lives; just 10% of men do. Though cellulite is a harmless condition, it can be frustrating. Cellulite is a dimpled, puckered appearance on your skin. Sometimes likened to the texture of an orange peel or cottage cheese, cellulite can impact your self-confidence.

Despite what you might think, cellulite isn’t always a result of being overweight. In fact, cellulite can develop regardless of your weight. Even if you aren’t overweight, you may have cellulite on your thighs, buttocks, stomach, and more.

If you’re embarrassed to show off your skin because of cellulite, Cellulaze® can help. A laser treatment that targets the source of cellulite, Cellulaze is a minimally invasive procedure that delivers smoother skin. At Findlay Med Spa, Carmen Doty-Armstrong, DO, recommends Cellulaze as an effective treatment option for women who have mild to moderate cellulite.

Cellulite can be stubborn and unsightly

Why cellulite develops isn’t known, but how it occurs is. Cellulite is the result of fat cells pushing through the fibrous bands of tissue that connect your skin to your muscle. When fat cells accumulate between your skin and muscles, the bands pull down around them and form a puckered surface.

Cellulite is common in areas where women typically have more fat, like the thighs, hips, and buttocks. Gaining weight can make your cellulite more noticeable, but anyone can develop the uneven, puckered skin.

Some experts suggest that cellulite is genetic, so living a healthy lifestyle won’t always protect you from cellulite. Exercising regularly can give you stronger muscles and tighter skin, which can reduce the look of cellulite, but targeting specific areas of cellulite can be difficult.

Cellulaze targets cellulite at the source

Cellulaze is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that’s proven to reduce the look of cellulite. Cellulaze uses laser technology and liposuction to address the fat and fibrous tissue below the surface of your skin that gives you cellulite.

Using a small tube and small incisions in your treatment area, Dr. Doty-Armstrong targets your skin with laser energy. The energy boosts collagen production, thickening your skin and making it healthier. At the same time, the energy releases the fibers that pull your skin down around fat deposits.

The heat of the laser liquifies the extra fat in your treatment area, then Dr. Doty-Armstrong removes it. In just one treatment session, your skin becomes thicker and more elastic, fibrous bands are released, and extra fat is removed.

Many cellulite treatments target the skin’s surface, but cellulite is caused by the structure beneath your skin. Creams, lotions, and even massage do little to address the source of cellulite. Because Cellulaze targets the underlying structure of fat and fiber causing your cellulite, it delivers real, long-lasting results.

Get smoother skin with Cellulaze

If you’re interested in what Cellulaze can do for you, Dr. Doty-Armstrong and her aesthetic team  talk with you about your goals for the procedure. She often recommends Cellulaze treatment for women who are at a healthy weight but who are frustrated by mild to moderate cellulite.

Cellulaze laser treatment requires only one session, which takes an hour or two in our office. We numb your treatment area with local anesthesia, and during the procedure, you may feel pressure or a tugging sensation. In general, patients don’t experience much discomfort.

You can return to your normal daily activities within a day or two. You might experience some soreness and bruising in the treatment area, and we may recommend that you wear a compression garment for a few days during recovery to encourage healing.

Over the next few months, your body heals and eliminates the byproducts of your Cellulaze treatment. Your skin grows thicker, which helps reduce the look of cellulite. You can expect optimal results to appear three to 12 months after your procedure.

Clinical studies show that the smooth skin you achieve with Cellulaze can last for a year or more. With proper diet and exercise, you continue enjoying your results. To learn more about cellulite treatment with Cellulaze, call Findlay Med Spa to schedule your initial consultation today.
